Status: Part-time (less than 20 hours a week)
Shift: 1st Shift, Flexible schedule, must be available to work 8-5 on Tuesdays.
Grade: 30

A Typical Workday May Include:
Assist Court Clerk with the daily, monthly, and yearly workflow of cases, citations, and criminal complaints filed with the City's Municipal Court and ensure that all records of the court are accurately maintained according to proper procedures. This position reports to the Director of Finance in coordination with the Court Clerk and Municipal Judge. Responsibility for thoroughness and competency is critical due to the constitutional obligation of the City and the potential impact on safety, liability, and adverse citizen relations.
- Helps and provide information to the public; answers telephone and assists the public at the counter; explains Department and City policies/procedures as required.
- Maintains the confidentiality of highly sensitive information.
- Maintains file accuracy in a variety of locations, paying special attention to detail.
- Issues notices to those ordered to appear.
- Receive payments on fines; issues receipts and prepare bank deposits for all money received by the court. Enter data in computer systems.
- Accurately records court dispositions and case updates.
- Receives citations, warrants, bonds and additional defendant documents.
- Review electronic documents in the court records management system for accuracy and make corrections as needed.
- Create files and court dockets for each case and ensure all required documentation is received and accurately.
- Research case information is needed to ensure accurate case payments, documentation and file completion.
- Coordinate with Safety Officers for trial scheduling and filing documents.
- Attend court sessions, serve as court reporter, assist judge and coordinates courtroom activity.
- Performs a variety of administrative functions including, but not limited to, processing letters, correspondence, legal motions and documents, memos, minutes, reports, citation dispositions, forms, and other documents. Maintains logs, scans and files records.
- Copies and releases requested reports as appropriate in compliance with established confidentiality rules and regulations; collect appropriate fees.

Peripheral Duties
- Assists the Court Clerk with other related duties deemed necessary or as assigned.
- Attend training as required.

What You Will Need:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
What Will Put You Ahead:
- One year’s experience working with the public is preferred.
- 1-2 years of court experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities – With or without reasonable accommodations:
Physical
- Ability to type accurately at a rate required for successful job performance.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment/machines such as a copier, calculator, computer, and phone as required by assignment.
- Inside work environment requiring use of eyes and typing dexterity.
- Lifting five to ten pounds.
