
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented paralegal to support our legal operations across a diverse portfolio of civil construction businesses.
Essential Functions
- Document Management:
- Use Microsoft SharePoint and Teams to manage contracts, documents and other legal files
- Legal Support Across Business Units:
- Assist with administrative tasks such as mail, invoice review, scheduling, and expense reporting
- Assist with contract review, create redlines, and compare with playbooks
- Conduct legal research:
- Draft basic legal documents
- Provide legal assistance to teams in construction materials production, infrastructure contracting, and pavement preservation
- Assist with permitting, licensing, and regulatory filings across Indiana and neighboring states
- Labor & Employment Compliance:
- Support compliance with collective bargaining agreements and labor union regulations
- Assist in preparing documentation for grievances, arbitrations, and labor board proceedings
- Risk Management, Litigation & Claims Support:
- Compare Certificates of Insurance to contractual requirements
- Support insurance and risk management efforts, including claims tracking and litigation reporting
- Coordinate with outside counsel on litigation and administrative matters
- Organize discovery materials, maintain legal files, and track case developments
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with project managers, HR, procurement, and finance teams to ensure legal alignment across all business operations
- Provide training and guidance on legal processes and document handling
- Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to continuously growing in alignment with the Company’s core values, competencies, and skills.
Education Qualifications
- Associate's Degree or Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Business, or related field
Experience Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience as a paralegal
- Paralegal certification from an ABA-approved program
Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive documents and confidential information with discretion and integrity
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal management software
- Experience supporting multi-entity organizations or diversified business platforms
- Effective investigative and research skills
- Ability to manage time effectively, ensuring deadlines are met through prioritization and organization
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently while maintaining efficiency and accountability
