
Position: Paralegal – Main office in Baltimore, MD
Role Overview
Continental Realty Corporation (CRC) is seeking a Paralegal to support our commercial real-estate retail business with a national footprint. The position will report to the General Counsel located in the corporate office in the Mt. Washington area of Baltimore, MD.
**Hybrid schedules available, required 3 days in the office**
Most Important Responsibilities
- Assist with tracking, managing and closing real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions and loan transactions. Draft, review, and organize legal documents and assist with due diligence.
- Prepare closing binders and post-closing documentation, ensuring all necessary filings and internal record-keeping are completed.
- Prepare, organize and file entity documents.
- Support the Corporate Real Estate team in the processing of lease documents related to commercial real estate leasing transactions (i.e. commercial leasing agreements, lease amendments, subleases, extensions, and terminations) from inception through completion and execution.
- Respond to lease and property management-related issues and requests from our operations personnel in the field and from various corporate departments (Finance and Accounting, Leasing, Lease Administration, Workplace Operations, etc.)
- Coordinate with internal attorneys, business clients, and insurance consultants regarding insurance questions and COIs.
- Work closely and collaboratively with internal business clients to support and maintain our real estate portfolio throughout the United States.
- Exercise judgment within defined procedures to determine appropriate action, including, but not limited to, identifying issues that require the input of other Legal Team members and taking steps to escalate these matters appropriately.
- Assist with the development and implementation of processes for efficient and streamlined operations, including workflow between the Legal Team and other internal teams.
- Assist in reviewing, assembling, finalizing, and maintaining contract documents.
- Assist in the collection, review and filing of due diligence reports and analysis.
- Assist with collection efforts including sending out notices of default.
Most Important Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree strongly preferred
- 3+ years of exp as Leasing and/or Transactional Paralegal in commercial real estate
- Ability to interact with internal/external stakeholders and outside parties, including tenants, outside counsel and third-party vendors, to achieve effective resolutions to legal matters
- Strong drafting, organization and communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a multi-discipline team
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Flexible, detail-oriented and self-motivated
- Ability to manage multiple projects, self-prioritize, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
